Amanda Shares Her Story, Equips Professionals, and Points People to Healing
The Lord keeps opening doors to share about post-abortion healing and bridging the gap between hurting women and those called to help. Each conversation is a breadcrumb—another way for someone searching to find hope. If you heard me somewhere and ended up here, welcome. I'm glad you found your way.
Amanda's Testimony: God's Healing Power After Abortion & Surrendering the Secret
In this powerful conversation with Pastor Dana Coverstone, Amanda shares her complete story—from being forced into a late-term abortion at age 14 to finding healing through Surrendering the Secret Bible study 28 years later. This interview is raw, honest, and deeply moving.
Pastor Dana, who has counseled women carrying abortion guilt for decades (including an 81-year-old woman who held her story for 60 years), creates a safe space for Amanda to share the hard truths: the loneliness, the disenfranchised grief, the lie that you don't deserve healing.
But this isn't just a trauma story. It's a story of redemption. Amanda talks about naming her son Levi, honoring him through ministry, and how the Lord spoke to her soul even at 14 saying, "This will be a blessing to others one day." She's held onto that promise for nearly three decades.
Amanda Shares Her Story About Christ's Healing Power
In this powerful video interview, Amanda discusses the silence around post-abortion trauma and why the church needs to create spaces for healing conversations. She talks about breaking down the walls of shame and pointing people to the hope that's available in Christ.

Episode 147: Amanda's Story, Part 1 - Forced into Abortion at Age 14
Amanda got into the wrong crowd at school after leaving a Christian school and going to a public school after her parents divorced. At 12, she began dating a 15-year-old. At age 14, she was pregnant. She was taken to an abortion clinic when she was 17 weeks pregnant and was shown a grainy ultrasound picture. The clinic staff told her that it was 'only a blob of tissue'. She was taken to a late-term abortion clinic but ran from the building in an effort to avoid the abortion and save her baby. The adults around her convinced her to come back in to have the abortion. Her life was forever altered.
Topics Discussed:
The circumstances leading to pregnancy at age 14
Being shown a "grainy ultrasound" and told it was "just a blob of tissue"
Running from the clinic to save her baby
The trauma of being forced back inside
How that day changed everything
Episode 148: Amanda's Story, Part 2 - The Mess of My Life Led Me to Jesus
Amanda's abortion left her broken, but her brokenness led her straight to Jesus. In this powerful conclusion, she shares how she eventually married and had five children, but never forgot the baby she lost. After joining a post-abortion Bible study and then becoming a leader, she discovered her mission: bringing awareness and healing opportunities to others.
Amanda also talks about attending her first Deeper Still retreat and experiencing an even deeper level of healing—which is why she now serves on the Mississippi Deeper Still team and why Deeper Still retreats are such an important part of Bridge to Hope's ministry.
Topics Discussed:
How the Lord met her in her brokenness
Living with the memory while raising five children
Joining Surrendering the Secret Bible study
Becoming a facilitator and discovering her calling
The transformative power of Deeper Still retreats
Her current work bridging the gap between post-abortive women and professionals
Episode 6: Amanda B. Scott on Healing and Hope for the Abortion-Wounded Community
In this in-depth conversation, Amanda talks specifically about her mission to educate and equip therapists and community leaders to reach and serve the abortion-wounded community. This episode is particularly valuable for professionals who want to understand how to bring healing, hope, and understanding to those who are hurting.
Amanda shares her personal abortion story as the foundation for why this work matters, but she also dives into the practical side: What do counselors need to know? How can community leaders create safe spaces? What does trauma-informed, faith-based care actually look like?
If you're a therapist, pastor, or recovery leader wondering how to bridge the gap between wanting to help and knowing how to help, this episode gives you the roadmap.
Topics Discussed:
Amanda's personal abortion story and its impact
Educating therapists who didn't learn this in school
Equipping community leaders to serve the abortion-wounded
Creating trauma-informed approaches to healing
The intersection of faith and professional care
Resources for professionals and hurting individuals
Connections to Deeper Still and other healing ministries
Episode 1: Serving from an Obedient Heart
In this conversation, Amanda talks about what it means to walk in obedience when the Lord calls you to something difficult. She shares how saying "yes" to Christ—even when it meant stepping into the painful work of post-abortion ministry—has shaped her life and her calling.
This episode focuses less on the trauma story and more on the ministry story: What does it look like to build a bridge between hurting people and those called to help? How do you obey when the calling feels bigger than you? And what does it mean to serve from a heart that's been healed?
Topics Discussed:
Walking in obedience to God's calling
Saying "yes" to Christ in the hard things
Building Bridge to Hope as an act of obedience
Helping women step into their own callings
The intersection of healing and serving
